Bourbon House Build-Out

Mayer Building Company conveyed a small expansion at Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House on December 21st 2012 in time for their Christmas rush. The project was unveiled for lunch service on the day of the New Orleans Bowl. It included converting an unused room, essentially an oversized janitor’s closet, into a full service Bourbon Bar, replete with custom cypress and glass millwork, cypress wainscotting, glazed faux finish walls, new lights, new custom cypress and tempered glass storefront, concrete flash patching and carpet, and re-location of the existing speakers and temperature controls. Our sister company, Guild Carpentry, was responsible for all of the beautiful millwork.

The storefront, which was reviewed by the HDLC, matches the existing storefront windows and panelled knee walls of the Astor Crown Plaza and the European style dining room of the Bourbon House.

The Dickie Brennan & Company’s Bourbon Society will host flights and tastings at this new top-notch alcove, but the new fit-out will also provide for a well-appointed waiting area.

The nice thing about this type of commercial construction is that when it occurs, Mayer Building Company adds value to our clients’ operations.  Not only can this powerhouse restaurant add to its purview (and increase sales), but also the keenness of the timing couldn’t be better with all of the upcoming New Orleans events.
