In November 2014, Mayer Building Company completed fresh paintworks in the common area of a French Quarter apartment building. Maintenance in common areas in downtown buildings are often overlooked. This particular condo association has a beautiful common area and our clean and simple paint job helps to keep it that way.

Uptown Addition and Camelback

Perhaps “camelback” as a term sells this project short. In September, MBC completed an expansive addition and second story to this home Uptown. New foundations and structural assemblies were required to convert this modest single into the owner’s grand 2-story vision. The project included 4 and 1/2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a wide open garden room overlooking a covered 14 x 30 covered porch, a chef’s kitchen, bar, jumpseat office nook, closets-for-days and new fireplace with custom hearth and mantle. Other features include painted concrete tiles, custom built iron rails, smartphone HVAC controls, antique wood floors, restored cypress columns, hidden doors, and energy efficient windows.

Ale

In July 2014, Mayer Building Company completed a new restaurant / bar on Oak Street. Ale boats a new stainless steel commercial kitchen, reclaimed heart pine clad walls, a “leathered” granite bar, a new walk-cooler keg system which feeds over 30 taps, a new brick patio shared with Oak Wine Bar.

Master Suite Renovation

On grand Audubon Boulevard, MBC completed a master suite renovation that included fabricating and installing a new built-in entertainment center in the bedroom, replacing the master bathroom floor and shower alcove with new Crema Marfil and decorative glass accents, new plumbing fitting and freshening the paint.

Site Prep and Improvements for Health Industry

In June 2014, MBC completed a job for a Louisiana State’s health care agency in St. Bernard Parish. Among the many tasks accomplished, we successfully removed old concrete foundations and graded out a new crushed concrete parking lot, replaced 2 package units on the roof of the building, carefully removed the finishes in the building, replaced broken storefront, installed a new 300 Amp electrical service, planted several trees and over forty feet of garden.

Nimble Improvement at River Oaks

In June 2014, Mayer Building Company delivered a small project at River Oaks Hospital. The job consisted of installing a new rated door and wall, modifying existing casework and matching all the River Oaks finishes. Our forces quickly and quietly installed the work to the satisfaction of the owner, all the while maintaining safety and respect for the occupants, staff and environment.

Cooler Retro-fit at Tableau

At Dickie Brennan’s Tableau Restaurant in Le Petit Theatre, Mayer Building Company quickly and skillfully performed a retrofit construction project in the dining room in February 2014. Delivered on time, prior to Krewe De Vieux, with no interruption to Tableau’s operations, this project consisted of creating an alcove for a new oversized wine cooler. The alcove as conceived bisected a two story concrete block wall. Mayer Building Company cut in the wall, headed the opening with steel, and re-established all the finishes. Flourishes included a new custom millwork POS housing, a modern take on an Arabesque trim and terra-cotta floor tile and base.
