In the fall of 2016, Mayer Building Company completed this 7-month renovation and addition to a 1920s craftsman home just of Bayou St. John. We converted this 2 bed/2 bath shotgun into a 4 bed/ 4 bath two story family home with a new kitchen, playroom and laundry. The work included re-purposing a brick fireplace into structural piers, adding a second story and renovating the first floor. Notable features include historically appropriate fenestration, re-milled antique pine floors and stair treads, new and reclaimed cabinets and millwork, spray foam, high efficiency mechanical and plumbing systems and old-world doors and hardware.
