In April, Mayer Building Company completed the major overhaul that was this Mid City home renovation project. In this over-sized double, we created a grand single family home. While all systems are new: (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, windows, appliances, hardware), the beauty of this project was in re-purposing many of its original features. We salvaged the baseboards, the doors & transoms, spliced in old heart pine to catch up with the 100 year + wood floor. Throughout the 2-1/2 bathrooms, kitchen and and major master suite, we focused on the details to achieve the designer’s fun mid-century motif. The master bath is roomy and elegant with stone, glass and chrome. The airy kitchen will make Jazz Fest parties a breeze, decorated in Carrera, subway and stainless steel.
